Building Our Legacy : Hispanic Heritage Month of Action

Each year, we observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of Latinos.

This year, we invite you to join us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month- "El Mes de la Herencia Hispana" by taking action and using the power of our vote for our community as a whole.

We at SIREN have teamed up with organizations like Voto Latin, Mi Familia Vot, and iAmeric; celebrity sponsors including Rosario Dawson, America Ferrera, Diane Guerrero, and Wilmer Valderrama;edia companies, and concerned Americans like you to mobilize our community to register to votoday and prepare for the 2016 presidential election!

Want to make a difference? Here’s how you can help:

Registering to vote enables you to leave a legacy for the Latino community. It is the only way to guarantee that your voice is heard, and that elected officials represent you. Voting allows you to stand up for issues that impact Latinos the most, and to speak for the 11 million undocumented who cannot.

Honor Your Heroes.

In our culture, there are many unsung heroes who inspire us to be a better version of ourselves. This year we are using Hispanic Heritage Month of Action as an opportunity to celebrate these people and, through that celebration, counter the growing inaccurate rhetoric about the Latino community.

Join us in this effort by sharing your #HispanicHeritageHero on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram today.

Here's what you need to do:

  • Figure out who you want to thank this Hispanic Heritage Month for being your personal hero.
  • Get a great picture of (or with) that person.
  • Post it on social media with a line or two about why this person is awesome using the hashtag #HispanicHeritageHero so we can share it.
  • Tag that person if they're on social media.
  • Take 5 minutes to help build our legacy. Register to vote.

Note: The person you feature can be a family member, a friend, a mentor, a community leader, a celebrity, a local activist, or a politician. It's really about Latinos who make a difference to you.

Latinos are the second larges, youngest,nd fastest growinroup of Americans. Our community has an opportunity to stand up for what we believe in, activate change, and build our legacy together.

Join the Hispanic Heritage Month of Action now. Let’s build our legacy. Let’s honor our heroes and register to vote.
